About
the Young Artist Committee
Founded in 1991, the Young Artist Committee aims to
provide performance and musical growth opportunities for young pianists
through competitions, scholarships, recitals, master classes, and workshops.
The committee also fosters cultural events within its community and carries
various musical and learning opportunities throughout Arizona.
The Young Artist Committee sees itself as a resource for
both teachers and students, to assist them in teaching, learning, and
per-forming. No affiliation or membership is required to participate in
any of the Committee's events. The Committee does not consider itself
to be an artist agency, even though young-and -upcoming artists are frequently
featured in its recitals. The Committee recognizes the value of new talent
in the music profession, yet honors the teaching and performing experience
of established artists.
The Young Artist Committee is supported by grants from
arts commissions, corporate sponsorships, donations from businesses, community
organizations, and individuals, as well as in-kind donations from professional
services and individuals.
